The Owner ,General manager, Service manager , etc of The Automotive shop is 110% responsible for the losses in the shop and they come backs. 

Everything that goes wrong out in the shop is a direct reflection of the owner of the shop.

Especially as things have been changing even more so in the last 30 years and multiplied in complexity in the last 10 years beyond what Andy one single human being can memorize all the different operations and different types of fittings in fasteners and order in which every year make model vehicle has been assembled.

But not in a general repair where you have every year make model vehicle this is where the one running the shop responsible to shop is the cause of the failures and expensive come backs and loss of reputation and bad reviews.
It’s the owners of the shop who is responsible and guilty.

If there’s one thing I’ve seen in the last 30+ years of working in other shops is the drastic difference on expensive comebacks having customers not return from multiple mistakes from the shop having arguments between technicians and managers and owners and just all-around lost productivity.

The number one factor that stands out is the shops practice of having one technician take the car apart and a different technician putting it back together.

And this old practice that my father practiced because cars were simple back in his day and my grandfather practice was no problem cars were no more complicated than a child’s jigsaw puzzle at a grammar school level.

But the owners of some of the shops were mentored by other shop owners from my time in the past where those kind of practices were common every day way of doing business and it was easy.

Unfortunately these guys have not figured out that you can’t get by with doing this without having a certain level of mistakes that can be very costly including occasionally burning out an engine wash I see several times a year in different shops.

And the one thing I noticed year after year shop after shop the common denominator is usually the shop that uses the technique of one technician taking it apart in a different technician putting it back together. 

This particular shop I’m in right now making this video is one of the shops that I actually bring my own car to and recommend family to bring their cars to and believe me I usually could only count that many shops that I would do that for on one hand.
