These days, entire mosaic skeletons are often replaced with full-scale replicas made of plaster or plastic.
But ironically, these display choices have become one more excuse for conspiracy theorists to question whether the “real” fossils are even real at all.
In response to this kind of ridiculous slander, paleontologists have been very clear.
The idea that anyone would deliberately include fake bones in a display just to fool the public is completely absurd.
There’s no reason anyone would go through all that trouble, and honestly, I can’t even begin to imagine how much work it would take to pull off something that pointless.
