COLLEGE DECISIONS 2021

this video has been a LONG time coming and i'm so so thankful that the entire process is over.

to anyone who will be applying to college at any point in your life, please remember: COLLEGE DOES NOT DEFINE YOU. the idea that your success is only validated by the schools you get into is a damaging misconception that i believed throughout most of my life, and it's one that i am just now beginning to let go of. please do not use this video as a means to compare yourself to me - everyone is different. everyone has different stories to tell. and even more than that, nobody really knows how the college admissions process works. especially this year, the admissions cycle was crazy and peculiar and unpredictable for many reasons. in the end, everything will work out how it's supposed to. and in the meantime, all you can do is try your best. find your passion. work hard. stay balanced. have fun. there's so much more to you than an arbitrary school's arbitrary decision. as you can see, things turned out a little bit differently than i'd planned. there were definite disappointments. but they'll only help me grow.
