🌊 On this trip, We started from Danjiangkou City in Hubei Province, China.

Here lies the source of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project — the Danjiangkou Reservoir.
Located in northwestern Hubei, it is known as the “Pearl of Central China.”
Formed by damming the Han River, the reservoir stretches far and wide, with rippling blue waves, rolling hills, and scattered islands.
In the early morning, the surface is often shrouded in mist, while the grand dam stands tall in the distance — magnificent and serene.

Departing from downtown Danjiangkou, we drive east along Shuidu Avenue, overlooking the great dam,
then cross Shuidu No.2 Bridge to enter the scenic road from Danjiangkou to Wudang Mountain.
This route winds along the reservoir’s western shore — with vast waters on one side and layered mountains on the other.
The road is smooth and open, offering panoramic views of fishing villages, tea gardens, bamboo forests, and distant islands.

More than just a link between Danjiangkou and Wudang Mountain,
this highway is a perfect blend of natural beauty, ecological charm, and cultural heritage.
Stretching about 60 kilometers, it leads all the way to the UNESCO World Heritage Site — Wudang Mountain.

Whether in the morning mist or under the evening glow,
this journey reveals the tranquil grandeur of mountain and water.
Among self-drive travelers, it’s often called “The Most Beautiful Road from Lake to Mountain.”
