Architecture & Digital Twins: Rebuilding the Palácio Iglésias (Lisbon)

Join us in our next conversation with architect Jānis Aufmanis on his experience in researching Lisbon’s architectural sites and what motivated him in developing an alternative digital replica of the Iglésias’ palace for the PdBA Lisboa! The session will address key societal concerns on cultural heritage, appropriation and digital twins!

Jānis Aufmanis (Riga, Latvia) is an architect based in Brussels (BE) and Riga (LV) investigating pragmatic and sustainable approaches to historical urban sites. Jānis was the PdBA’s first visiting artist, in April in Lisbon, where he conducted creative research on the Iglésias palace. His visit was possible thanks to the Culture Moves Europe mobility programme, funded by the European Union and implemented by the Goethe Institute.
