Walking the full length of the Malverns (end-to-end) is an achievable ambition for many hill walkers. This video will make you appreciate the scale of the challenge and after watching it a couple of times you will have the visualisation and mindset to begin studying an OS Explorer #190 map in detail.

Once you reach British Camp, the task of following the ridge-line becomes easy, but between Chase End Hill and British Camp there are several places where you can go very wrong. During these early stages, you're often low-down in dense woodland, without a clear view of the hills, and at several places you'll have multiple paths to chose from.

Avoiding getting lost (at the start) is only one problem. Ensuring that you truly know where lesser known hill-tops are (e.g. Hollybush Hill, Hangman's Hill and End Hill) is important too, otherwise you risk expending 10+ walking miles of precious time and calories without actually completing the challenge properly. All of this knowledge will help you to successfully achieve your objective of walking The Malverns end-to-end and touching all 19 of the high points.
