Weird new trotter/hoof socks from Sidas, designed by ultra runner Jon Albon (plus insoles chat)

Recently both pro Tom Evans and my coach Tim Pigott have mentioned that it might be worth trying some insoles and different socks in my quest to find a trail shoe that fits me as perfectly as I think it should - I tend to get crippling blisters after a few hours in the toe and/or arch area, helped by tape but sweaty feet don't let it stick too long.

Tim is sponsored by Sidas and Tom also uses their socks and possibly their insoles too, so I got in touch for some test samples. Pete Rostron from Sidas very kindly offered to come down to measure and assess my feet and explain why runners might benefit from using insoles, and also gave me a sneak preview of some very strange new hoof/trotter socks coming this Spring 2024 from Sidas, designed by original mountain goat ultra runner Jon Albon. Their real name is the T-Free socks, but I'm calling them the hoof socks, or maybe the trotter socks, what do you think? It's an interesting concept... Will you be trying a pair?
