In this clip, we are diving for invasive lion fish that have been becoming more and more prevalent in our reefs. These fish have painfully venomous spines and can reproduce rapidly. Their feeding behavior limits available food supplies for other native reef species like red snapper and can diminish those stocks. We are using a pole spear to get these fish and then remove the spines, before icing and filleting. The morsels of meat are small but very good! ALWAYS HANDLE THESE FISH WITH EXTREME CARE.
