1) Deciding to do youtube. It's a ton of work & you need to post content consistently!

2) Do what YOU want to do on youtube... whatever it is, just DO IT!

3) Start learning how to do things yourself! Video shooting, editing, audio, etc

4) DON'T focus on trying to be perfect, NO ONE is, you will get better with time!

5) CONSISTENCY is #1! Make sure you pick a REALISTIC amount of content you will actually produce, better once a month than burning out and giving up!

6) Be HUMBLE & get feedback from your audience, friends, & family so you can improve your videos and make sure people actually want to watch them!

7) AESTHETICS! Make sure your channel & videos look GOOD!
Channel icon picture / Channel banner picture / Title is spelled right and capitalized right, with spaces / Description is filled out with links / The ABOUT section on your channel is filled out with links / you have PLAYLISTS so your videos are organized and people can find what they are looking for!

8) Make sure your video shot is clear, focused, & has good lighting. AUDIO is even more important, make sure you have the proper mic's for videos, & record your music into a recording software & sync it with the video later!

9) Video length! Make sure your video is not too long, or short! Imagine watching your own video, try to gauge how long you can keep your viewer interested!

10) Social Media of course! Gotta do it to connect with your audience!
