Creighton Road improvements advancing toward completion in 2025

Work to improve Creighton Road between North Laburnum Avenue and Sandy Lane is proceeding toward an anticipated completion in 2025.

The $17 million project will bring a new four-lane divided road with curb and gutter and sidewalks on both sides as well as a realigned intersection with Dabbs House Road. The project, which kicked off in March 2023, also will eliminate potentially dangerous curves and reduce the likelihood of flooding.

"Creighton Road used to typically flood with heavy rains, so we had to raise up the new road to prevent that future flooding," said Jason Bass, director of the Construction Division of the Department of Public Works.
