In today's video, Hayden covers the 2 power supply module options you have with the IQ Pro Alarm System. As normal, the IQ Pro uses power supply modules originally designed for the DSC NEO, which are the HSM2204 and HSM2300. Both of these power supplies offer up to an additional amp's worth of power you can use for devices on your system. The HSM2204, in particular, also adds 4 high-current outputs to your system that you can program. These modules come in handy when you need more keypads or zone expanders than the base IQ Pro can support on its own. The additional PGMs are useful for setting up additional smoke chains or sirens if needed as well. You are able to power additional sensors from the power supply if needed, although it is generally better to use the terminals provided on zone expanders for this purpose.

One of the most important things to remember when using a power supply module is that it requires an additional transformer and battery to operate correctly. Having an extra battery can take up a lot of space, so another recommended item is a secondary cabinet, such as the PC5003C. The PC5003C is also specifically designed to hold DSC modules, including the power supply modules, which makes mounting and installation much simpler. The use of DT-600 Terminal bus expanders can also make organizing your wiring much easier, as well.
