Chandannagar is famous for Jagadhatri Puja and lighting. But Chandan Nagar is a historical place where you can spend a day. Chandan Nagar is only 48 KM from Kolkata. You can have local train from Howrah and reach Chandan Nagar easily. So, Chandan Nagar is best weekend destination from Kolkata. Chandan Nagar was French colony. So, you can visit many French monuments in Chandan Nagar and you can also spend time beside Ganges. We started with Stand beside Ganges. A French made Clock Tower is also there beside Stand. The clock is still running. Next visit Patal Bari. Patal bari also made by French and a floor of the building is underground. Must visit place of Chandan Nagar is Nanda Dulal Mandir.
