Peehar (Doordarshan National) Serial aired from 2009-2011.

Peehar is a Hindi language TV serial which was telecasted on DD National .The TV series Peehar was a daily soap opera. DD National telecasted the show in the afternoon for its viewers. Himanshu Consul has directed the show and, Ramesh Bokade has produced it. Vimanshu Kaushal has written this entire TV series. The cast of the story includes Tina Parekh, Shishir Sharma, Amit Behl, Kuldeep Dubey, Shweta Dadhich, Dhoni Bharadwaj and,Kapil Soni. The protagonist of the story was Tina Parekh around whom the whole story of the serial revolves. Peehar TV serial revolves around the story of a woman. The show portrays the life of the protagonist after her marriage. After her marriage, she has to shift in a foreign country with her husband. On the foreign land, she faces a lot of issues.

She always keeps looking for something that would give her the sense and, the smell of her roots and, the culture of her motherland. The foreign outlook, culture, lifestyle and everything that is foreign turns up completely worthless as well as useless to her in the show. This kind of grueling experience of an alien land with people she doesn’t know and cannot relate to them. Finally, at the end of the show, she comes back to the place where she has born and brought up. She feels much more relieved to be in her own country among her own people. Peehar showed the true and poor conditions of the villages in India, including the prevalent system. The show had a commendable reach to various other societal issues of women liberalization, orthodoxy, child marriage, illiteracy among women and, much more.

The show didn’t only show the problems, but also the ways to tackle them, the rights that the citizens have in their home country. The show shows the speciality and the importance of Peehar in the life of a girl, after her marriage as she has to leave her home and her parents to start a new life altogether in another house. The balance a woman has to maintain between the two sides; her Peehar and, her Sasural. The show portrayed the beautiful aspect of this balance and, relationship. The story and, plot of the show never lost its novelty. It was not just the story, but the characters who bind the audience with it due to which it became a major success and crossed over 300 episodes. The show kept running for a time span of two years on DD National. The show was a major hit and, one of the most loved daily soaps ever by Doordarshan.
