In this video, we are performing a simple experiment to demonstrate the Crystallization process and the definition of Crystallization. This topic belongs to Class 9 Science Chapter 2 i.e., Is Matter Around Us Pure?

Activity:
We take an impure copper sulphate and prepare a copper sulphate solution with water that is supersaturated. Then, we do the filtration of the solution to separate the impurities from the solution.

Going ahead, we start evaporating the solution we have prepared to make the process faster. Once it starts to form crystals when taken in small amounts, we can assume that it will form crystals when cooled down.

Take the solution out and put it into a glass vessel or beaker and cover the beaker with filter paper and leave it for a day.

You will be excited to see the results? The next day, you can expect some crystals of pure copper sulphate will be formed in the beaker which you can now separate out from the solution.

This process of converting liquid solutions to solids in order to get pure solids in form of crystals is generally known as crystallization.
