An eighth house collapsed into the sea, and crashed into the still-standing one next door on North Carolina’s Outer Banks on Thursday, October 2, as large swells from Hurricane Imelda continued to slam the coast, according to local news outlet WAVY.

Jenni Koontz of Epic Shutter Photography captured this dramatic footage showing the moment the home toppled.

The National Weather Service warned of a “long-duration and impactful swell event” along the North Carolina coast.

Five homes collapsed on Wednesday in Buxton, with the National Park Service (NPS) noting the houses, which were unoccupied, collapsed within a span of 45 minutes.

“Further collapses are possible in Buxton, and in Rodanthe, so visitors are urged to stay away from houses in the ocean water and use caution near debris,” NPS warned. https://abc7chicago.com/post/hurrican...
