While the build quality and materials are impressive, but sometimes retrofitted, there are still opportunities for improvement—even in Europe. Many homes lack dedicated mechanical ventilation systems with heat recovery, some nasty lineal thermal bridges which can impact indoor air quality and energy efficiency. Airtightness detailing could also be improved to prevent heat loss and reduce drafts(Sometimes cheaper is better), and some thermal bridging issues remain around floor junctions and wall protrusions for balconies.
