Twen would have been on top 40 radio in the mid 90s.

Sometimes when I hear certain bands, I fear they were created in the wrong era. Twen, the brainchild of Jane Fitzsimmons and Ian Jones, is one of those bands for me. Their blend of 90s pop rock/alternative makes me pine for my childhood...a time when rock music was on almost every radio station and the whole music world felt connected. This was the era of "pool songs" and summer-reading procrastination. Leaving your bikes in the front yard and running around singing whatever huge hit was out that June or July. Music videos mattered...it was all we had as kids to get a glimpse of our favorite bands. Twen would have fit right in.
However, wrong era or not, we are extremely lucky to be in the era of Twen.
We get to witness their incredible albums, their highly contagious live shows and overall vibe that makes you want to be a part of their world. When Twen is in the same room as you, they bleed inclusiveness. Fitzsimmons' vocal melodies and lyrics intertwine so naturally with Jones' jangly, sneaky guitar licks. They hit all the chord changes that just feel like those late July afternoons, knowing summer is ending soon, complimented by the anxious excitement of a new school year.
It's a good feeling.
