The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Saturday evening. According to MCSO, deputies responded to the 13800 block of Northeast 54th Place in Silver Springs around 6:40 p.m. on Saturday.

At the scene, responding units located a white male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim ultimately passed away. MCSO has identified the victim as 56-year-old Stephen John Jones.

No suspects are in custody at this time.
