Mendhar: Farmers Reaping Benefit Of Peace As Guns Fall Silent On LOC

Three years ago, indiscriminate firing from Pakistan caused significant hardship for residents of border areas in Mendhar, Poonch district. However, as guns have fallen silent farmers in Chhajla village in the remote Mankot sector of Mendhar subdivision are now engaged in rice cultivation. Residents expressed that working in the fields was extremely challenging before the ceasefire due to frequent ceasefire violations and firing from Pakistan but for the past three years, the ceasefire has brought much-needed relief, allowing them to live and work peacefully
