Описание к видео BEST POSITION to get a DEEP and CORRECT LATCH during BREASTFEEDING | HOW TO AVOID PAIN while NURSING

In this video, Dr. Maria Chiara Alvisi - obstetrician will show you how to get a deep and correct latch, and how to avoid pain during one of the best positions for breastfeeding: VERTICAL POSITION or BIOLOGICAL NURTURING POSITION.

Breastfeeding should be pleasant and painless.
Painful breastfeeding can really damage mom's experience and compromise it.

Two factors are essential for effective and painless breastfeeding:

1. A mother who is correctly informed about how to position the newborn at the breast, how to get a deep latch, a mother who is in the best health conditions to take care of herself and her baby;

In this video, Dr. Maria Chiara Alvisi - obstetrician will show you how to get a deep and correct latch in all the best positions for breastfeeding.

2. A baby who can attach correctly.
Due to intrauterine malpositions or due to childbirth, the baby may experience tension/contractures in the jaw, mouth and/or neck.
If the contractures are such that they limit mandibular and neck movement, the baby's sucking and latch is negatively affected and, consequently, also breastfeeding.
The baby doesn't open the jaw so the mom has nipple pain and breastfeeding is painful.
That's why osteopathic support is fundamental; pediatric osteopath massage baby's mouth and improve suction to get rid of breastfeeding pain.
Dr. Matteo Silva - pediatric osteopath will show you in another YouTube video how to massage your baby's mouth and to get rid of nipple pain.

NB: if one of the two factors is below its optimal potential, objective difficulties in breastfeeding arise.

VERTICAL POSITION or SITTING POSITION or BIOLOGICAL NURTURING

Another position that is often recommended from birth is biological nurturing or sitting position.

As is clear from the definition itself, the little one sits in front of the mother, to be precise on her legs, and finds the breast in front of the nose.

Very small newborns remain in the fetal position, with their legs flexed on the abdomen, which can easily be left like that.

The attack must always be managed by bringing the baby as close as possible - there must be no space between his body and that of the mother - and making sure that he finds the breast in front of the nose.

This position can be a little uncomfortable at first but really helps you to get a deep and correct latch.
