How to Replace Minn Kota Fortrex Rear Pivot Brackets and Bushings

The Minn Kota Fortrex is a great trolling motor, but the rear pivot brackets and bushings tend to weaken over time, especially for those who do not have a “stabilizer bar” or “bounce bar” installed. This video is the first on YouTube which shows how to complete the process yourself.

It’s important to be careful, the gas spring in the trolling motor mount is under pressure and can cause serious injury. I avoided injury, but accidentally deployed the gas spring at 9:26 of the video. If you start and finish one side before moving to the next, you will avoid deploying the gas spring.
