David Rudder's riveting performance at Dimanche Gras 1986 was one for the ages, and definitely worthy of the title of Calypso Monarch that year.

His winning performance at Queens Park Savannah in Port of Spain was his tribute to the late"Hammer", Rudolph Charles , former leader of the Desperadoes Steel Orchestra, who had recently passed away.

The presentation begins in darkness and is not fully captured by the cameras, but brightens up later in the performance.
