"Webbio Technologies" Tech Support Scam | $999.99 for non-existing problems

Описание к видео "Webbio Technologies" Tech Support Scam | $999.99 for non-existing problems

In this video, we call a company known as "Webbio Technologies" who for one, can't spell anything correctly and you will see this thought the video. They spell technology wrong on their website title bar. Not a surprise by any means. This company is creating fake web-based pop-ups that "hijack the browser" making it unable to use unless you close out of it, or open another window. The pop-up claimed I had spywares and viruses and that I needed to call the "engineers" in order to fix the non-existing problem. Once I called this company and they were connected to my virtual machine, he opened msconfig and msinfo32, he went on a big long thing about how the "infection" got to my computer. After this, he went to the services tab of msconfig and said the usual spiel of how the services aren't supposed to be stopped. This, of course, is a lie, they all DO NOT need to be running at the same time. These services are normally disabled. He then stated that the logs in event viewer were from unknown programs which is completely false. Those logs are completely normal logs and they are not "unknown programs." Next, he went to msinfo and lied about the system drivers. These, like msconfig, do NOT need to be all running at the same time. They are NORMALLY disabled. Furthermore, he went to CMD and said he was going to "scan" the computer. He ran the dir /s command and while it was running he typed "Detected / Malware Detected" and "Keylogger". This is fake. The dir /s command does NOT scan anything. It lists directories in the computer. He went on to tell me I had malware, and a keylogger on my computer, however, showed no proof of it. (Because he knew my computer was completely clean.) After this, he transferred me to someone else in the boiler room and he basically repeated the same scams. He tried to download junkware known as Free Diagnostics, however, it wouldn't install. You can tell it's junk when you need a password to install it. After this, he went to notepad and told me what needed to be "fixed". He also said that the action center setting caused the pop-up to appear. This is false, the action center setting makes messages come up in Action Center, not a fake web-based pop-up. Then he wanted to charge me $999.99 for issues I don't have and for fake services, I don't need. Upon confrontation, he hung up and disconnected and ran away like the coward he is. I tried calling back many times to ask for the supervisor but was hung up on multiple times.
