Since AB 2533 went into effect in January 2025, a few dozen cities have adopted it completely with both a process for how to apply to bring your unpermitted ADU out of the shadows, and a checklist that the jurisdiction will use to determine if there are any substandard health and safety issues.

I'm working on my list of every city and county with an AB 2533 process and flagging the ones with the best and worst features (there will be a video about this on the channel if you don't want to sit through me quietly working on it for several hours). This is the live stream where I am working on the list.
