If you’ve seen my Samsung Galaxy S22 review video, you will know that I very much like the design of this phone. The matte glass on the back and shiny aluminium frame look stunning. But to keep this great design looking good, it is a smart idea to use a case. Today I will be reviewing and comparing both the official silicone and leather cases from Samsung for the Galaxy S22. These are both strong options but each has their own unique strengths so depending on what you look for, one may be better than the other. First the leather case. This case is perfect to use in the office, at a nice restaurant, this case looks good and means business. The leather feel feels high end and I think perfectly compliments the high quality build of the Galaxy S22. The leather texture is easy to take in and out of your pocket and metal buttons make for a case that does not take away from the S22’s design but instead adding to it. But that is not to say that the silicone case doesn’t have strengths of it’s own. The silicone case is perfect for working out, the grippy silicone texture means your phone is secure and the silicone is more resistant to water so can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth or disinfectant wipe. The silicone case features the same great fit and silhouette of the leather case but at the significantly lower price, thought doest have those metal buttons. Which do I prefer? As a tech reviewer I carry two phones, my iPhone 13 and Galaxy S22 and you’ve seen any of my iPhone 13 videos, you will know I love using Apple’s leather case on most days, and the same is true for the Galaxy S22. The leather case for me, just ticks more boxes and is better suited for my lifestyle. But regardless of which you choose, you will not be disappointed, I think Samsung has done a great job with these cases!
