Since our last performance, "Casting Spells", produced in the October 2020 lockdown, Panacea have been working and dancing together every week, even though we are in isolation in our respective homes in different countries all over the world. Panacea is the goddess of healing, so what better name for a truly international dance troupe who create performances that tell a story, which we hope will demonstrate the power of dance to help us through these difficult times and keep our minds and bodies strong. We have witnessed and continue to see so many dancers struggle with isolation and that's what instigated this project - a need to keep dancing, lift our spirits, connect and work together on something, as well as giving us the opportunity to don our costume and create a 'performance'.
In our first collaborative performance we told the story of the threat of the Covid virus, mourning the loss of loved ones and our hopes for a solution, a way out which would create a better life for us as human beings and our beautiful planet.

It is now one whole year since any of us has danced with others in the flesh and we are in lockdown yet again, times have been dark, almost as if we have been hibernating but with the arrival of Spring there is renewed hope and we now have vaccines. We still have a long journey ahead but this performance highlights our positivity as we wake up from the depths of Winter, coming out of hibernation - a cold, dark, isolated place into the light of Spring with new energy, new growth, new life.

This video is a collaborative project - one that forces us to think outside the box - how can we present ourselves in a way that looks as though we are dancing together in our recognised formations - not easy but great fun.
