Dana RH Doan has over two decades of work experience as a practitioner, consultant, and researcher with a variety of social purpose organizations in the U.S.A., Southeast Asia, and Latin America. In 2009, Dana helped establish the LIN Center for Community Development in Ho Chi Minh City, to support the philanthropic efforts and initiatives of individuals and organizations working in Vietnam. Currently, she is a doctoral candidate at Indiana University’s Lilly Family School of Philanthropy (LFSOP) conducting her research in Vietnam. Her research interests include: community-led development; community philanthropy; learning, monitoring and evaluation; social impact measurement; nonprofit management; and justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.

As an advocate for bridging research and practice for social change, Dana publishes articles in both academic- and practitioner-oriented publications, serves on global and local advisory boards of nonprofit organizations, and is an active member and volunteer with the International Society for Third Sector Research (ISTR) and the Association for Research on Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Organizations (ARNOVA).
