We are looking at a new WordPress installation. I just created it. The website is not live yet and WordPress untouched.

We are preparing WordPress to be able to work with a Page Builder called Elementor. Elementor is a design system that doesn't require any knowledge of coding. For Elementor to work, we need the Astra theme. So I show you how to download and activate it.

Then I show you how to delete all the other themes but one. Which one you keep doesn't matter. We only keep it to be able to troubleshoot when we face problems. We should have two themes left: Astra and one default WordPress theme.

You get to know what is called Dashboard and Admin Bar in WordPress. The Dashboard is the black column on the left-hand side. The Admin Bar is the black row on the top of the page.

To start a website, you need a host. I strongly recommend Bluehost. They have excellent customer service! Please support me if you decide to use Bluehost and use my affiliate link. Start with the cheapest option called "Basic" and upgrade if you need more.

You are going to need a domain name as well. My domain name is "joyfullness.net". Bluehost sells you domain names when you sign up with them. Always purchase domain privacy protection! You don't need to buy any other add ons.
