First Look At New Ramp And Barricade System For Crowd Control At Puri Srimandir

The first images of the ramp and barricade system being prepared for regulated darshan (viewing) at the Natmandap of the Puri Jagannath Temple have been released. A construction company in Bhubaneswar is producing these specially designed barricades and ramps. The structure will allow devotees to have darshan while standing in queues on four-inch steps, positioned one behind the other. A demo of the new system is expected to take place from January 20th. Implementing this new system, after convincing the temple servitors, will be a challenge for the administration. The system is designed to accommodate approximately 150 to 200 devotees in a single queue for darshan at one time.
