In December, I auditioned to be Andrew Scott's understudy in a one-man adaptation of Uncle Vanya (they wanted a woman, and they asked for an Irish accent). It was one of the most daunting, interesting auditions I've had. I did not get the job, and that production has come and gone. But the proposition of being such an incredible actor's understudy was so intense and insane, that the only way I could approach the tape was to give NO f*cks about the outcome and treat it as an opportunity to work on my craft. And it ended up being SO fun. I'm sharing the scenes I taped because, while I didn't book it, I like what I made :) I'm playing multiple parts in both scenes, but the first scene is between Astrov and Sonya late at night, and the second scene is mainly Vanya.
