About the Song:
This song helps students master important 7th Grade math standards by introducing the concept of letters in algebraic expressions, ie Algebra. Students during their elementary education most often deal in expressions that have specific numeric values, but as they develop their mathematical skills beyond elementary, they'll soon discover that many expressions and equations have letters called variables in place of a specific number.

These letters stand in for an unknown numeric value that and represent a range of potential values. Since these values are unknown, mathematicians have decided that letters, like "x" and "y" for example, make great substitutes for numbers when we have incomplete information.
