This video is a deep dive into the costumes and fashions of the 1954 film "Sabrina" starring the iconic Audrey Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart. And yet it is also the retelling of the story of how Audrey Hepburn and Hubert de Givenchy started a relationship that would change both of their careers. Sabrina was Audrey Hepburn's second large film, following "Roman Holiday", and was the second time she would be working with the legendary costume designer Edith Head. But Audrey threw a wrench in Head's plans by asking the film's director if she could get real Paris Haute Couture to wear in segments of the film to follow the transformation of her character Sabrina and he approved of it. With little time to find a designer to make her clothes, she sought out Cristobal Balenciaga, but was turned away and instead recommended a then young up and comer Hubert de Givenchy. Their relationship would blossom into one of the greatest actor and fashion designer relationships in history but didn't come without some backstage drama between Hepburn, Givenchy, and Head which we explore here!
