‘SAY HEY’

Описание к видео ‘SAY HEY’

In honor of Willie Mays’ passing. Our forever Giant moves on to that Diamond in the sky.

‘SAY HEY’

We interrupt this broadcast of the Giants and the Cubs
With sad news of the passing of a man we all love
Willie Mays has always been so much more than the game
Say Hey Kid - baseball will never be the same

I sat in disbelief like a statue in my chair
The game I was watching didn’t matter – I just didn’t care
I was magically reminded of days so long ago
Willie was my inspiration – Willie was always my hero

With a transistor radio pressed to my ear
Or playing in empty lots with all my friends near
Or waiting for Saturday to watch the game of the week
It was always #24 – that I aspired to be

Imaginations run wild – we’ve all had this dream
It’s game seven of the series – we’re down by three
Full count – bases loaded – it's now bottom nine
The pitch – the swing – just kiss it goodbye

As you make your journey to that diamond in the sky
We must now bid farewell with a tear in our eye
‘Say Hey’ Willie – our forever Giant – in so many ways
Rest In Peace – love you always – simply the best - Willie Mays…
