The official launch of EU Code Week 2025 took place in Brussels, marking the beginning of another inspiring edition of Europe’s biggest celebration of coding, creativity, and digital skills.

Hosted by Victor Negrescu, Vice-President of the European Parliament, the high-level event brought together policymakers, educators, tech leaders, and community champions to celebrate innovation and the power of digital education.

Now reaching over 10 million participants, EU Code Week continues to empower people of all ages to actively shape Europe’s digital society.

Opening remarks by MEP Victor Negrescu, calling EU Code Week a “European success story” and championing inclusive digital education.

A video message from Henna Virkkunen, European Commissioner for Technological Sovereignty, Security and Democracy, reaffirming the EU’s commitment to digital literacy.

Inspiring keynote speeches by Salvatore Nigro, CEO of JA Europe; Ajsel Budlla, winner of the EU Code Week Digital Innovation Award; and Rehana Schwinninger-Ladak from the European Commission.

Two panel discussions exploring how innovation, inclusion, and community engagement are driving Europe’s digital transformation.
