Music Production in Dolby Atmos | HOFA-College Livestream

The topic of Dolby Atmos is probably on everyone's lips who is involved in music production and sound engineering today. But what exactly is Atmos or 3D audio and what impact does it have on us as producers/engineers and our work?

In this workshop, 3D audio expert Lasse Nipkow will explain the key differences to other formats such as stereo, binaural or classic surround and show the possibilities that Dolby Atmos opens up for us. We will be focussing on how to approach productions that need to be Dolby Atmos-compatible and will be looking at the relevant recording and mixing techniques.

As there will also be many sound examples from the practice that can be heard as a binaural downmix, we recommend that you listen to this workshop with headphones - this effect is not really audible on loudspeakers.
