NESS | American Magic Expedition Catalog: Foil Down - The Science Behind the Magic of Tech & Teamwork

Show students this clip of a race from the America’s Cup, and ask students to make observations about the Port of Barcelona.

Draw connections as you explain that a harbor is a place on the coast where vessels may find shelter. It is also protected from rough waters by jetties, piers, and other structures blocking wave impact - lower waves are best for the foiling AC40s!

Ask students to come up with activities that might take place in a harbor (a place with calmer waters).

Provide examples using racecourses.
