300g / 10.5 oz Chicken Breast 2.24
1 Onion 0.09
1 Clove of Garlic 0.04
Tin of tomatoes 0.47
¼ Tube Tomato Puree 0.18
1 Chicken Stock 0.12
3 tbsp While Wine 0.43
1 tsp Black pepper 0.04
½ tsp Thyme 0.02
½ tsp Rosemary 0.02

Total Cost 3.65

200g / 7oz Potatoes 0.18
1 Carrot 0.05
60g Green Beans 0.08
4 tbsp Veg oil 0.08

Total cost 0.36

Preparation.

Cut the chicken the way you like it, into cubes or strips. Coat in flour with a little salt and pepper and fry in a small amount of oil until brown on all sides.
Set the chicken aside.
Add a little butter into the pan and add the chopped onion and garlic and fry over a low heat until softened.
Add the white wine and simmer for a minute or so.
Add the tomatoes and tomato puree along with the stock.
Add the thyme and rosemary and black pepper.
Return the chicken to the pot, cover and place in the oven at 160c / 230f / gas mark 3 for 45 mins to an hour.

Prepare the veg and potatoes and serve a beautiful chicken chasseur meal for £1.57.
