Data collection strategies and processing pipelines for the 21st Century - Ralf Flaig

Описание к видео Data collection strategies and processing pipelines for the 21st Century - Ralf Flaig

A lot of effort usually goes into sample preparation and optimisation and this effort is worthwhile since sample quality plays a fundamental role in the outcome of a structural biology project. Following this, data collection, often termed as the last experimental step in this campaign plays an equally important role in determining the final result. However, the experiment of data collection also requires careful planning and taking into consideration
various parameters and questions.

In my talk I will highlight various aspects of data collection with a focus on using a dedicated macromolecular crystallography beamline at a synchrotron. Questions to be considered include the experimental aim, capability and choice of beamline, parameters of a data collection and modes of data collection. I will also consider the choice of unattended versus interactive data collection and more recent developments such as dose-aware data collection. Finally, I will talk about some aspects of data processing in the context of judging the outcome of a data collection.
