R Groves & Sons Backsaw Refurbish

Описание к видео R Groves & Sons Backsaw Refurbish

I got this great little 12-inch backsaw/tenon saw in a groups of saws, that were $5 each. Most of the other saws were hand saws; and there was also a frame saw and a Disston pruning saw. This saw was in great shape, with only a tiny chip from one of the horns, and some surface rust on the plate and the hard back, which made it a great candidate for refurbishing.

Groves took on the name Groves and Sons around 1822, and started using the ESE medallion around 1825. Split nuts started to fall out of favor around 1875, so I think the saw falls into that era, roughly 150 to 200 years ago.

This saw is 12-inch with 2 3/4-inches still under the back, filed at 12 PPI for rip.
