JET BOY JET GIRL Ca Plane Pour Moi

A double serve of 70's quirky pop. Elton Motello's 'Jet Boy Jet Girl' and Plastic Bertrand's 'Ca Plane Pour Moi'.

The former was a punk ode to bisexuality and teen angst. 'Jet Boy Jet Girl' was issued in late in 1977, and while not a hit in their English homeland, it was a chart maker not once but twice in 1978 in Australia! In June the song began its first rise, reaching #62 and spending two months in the Top 100; only to return in December from when it would hang around another 5 months, this time cracking the Top 40 - to #33.

Just as Elton Motello's song was garnering airplay, on the other side of the world, Plastic Bertrand's track 'Ca Plane Pour Moi' was issued in Britain, where it would race to the Top 10, and later all the way to #2 in Australia in early 1979. The two songs share the same melody and backing track (or so it seems!). The french version by Belgian performer Plastic Bertrand (real name Roger Jouret) was actually sung by the record's producer Lou Deprijck. It was a worldwide hit, even reaching the Top 50 on Billboard's Top 100, an achievement, as 5 years had gone by since a French language song: 'Je t'aime' had graced the American chart.

You have been warned - this is provocative pop!
ENJOY!
