GHOST NETS

Описание к видео GHOST NETS

One of the most insidious threats to the underwater ecosystem: Ghost nets.
These nets, which are left in the seas and inland waters as a result of fishing nets getting stuck on rocks, wrecks and decay, continue to passively fish underwater for years. It is not visible from the surface, but it causes irreparable ecological damage at the bottom and in the middle water. The lives of many creatures trapped in the nets come to a tragic end. While fish stocks are deeply wounded, some creatures lose their limbs. These marine litter, which takes many years to disappear, crumbles over time and turns into microplastics, can be carried to our tables as an invisible danger.
Our seas and inland waters, which we call the Blue Homeland, are our natural heritage that we need to protect sensitively with their rich underwater life, cultural and archaeological values and shipwrecks.
For this reason, we protect our seas and inland waters, which are indomitable defenders of life, and carry them to the future together.

The movie Ghost Networks, which we prepared for the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, is on air
