However, the crocodile's wife becomes envious when she tastes the jamuns and hatches a devious plan. She insists that the monkey's heart, which eats such sweet fruits, must be even more delicious and demands that her husband bring the monkey to her. Torn between his loyalty to his wife and his friendship, the crocodile reluctantly agrees.

Using a cunning ploy, the crocodile invites the monkey to his home for a meal. Trusting his friend, the monkey agrees but soon learns of the crocodile's true intentions when they are in the middle of the pond. Fearful yet quick-thinking, the monkey cleverly tells the crocodile that he left his heart on the tree and convinces him to return to retrieve it.

As soon as they reach the tree, the monkey leaps to safety, rebuking the crocodile for his betrayal. The story concludes with the monkey severing ties with the crocodile, teaching him a lesson about trust and betrayal.
