We are in Philippians 3 if you care to open to that section. To remind you of something Moses Silva said about chapter 3, "It is profoundly theological, yet intensely personal."

So Philippians 3 and as a way of getting back into it, and if you have been following on Wednesday night at all, one feature that shows up regularly in the New Testament though I don't hear it as much in popular preaching is this kind of activity of the mind that becomes foundational to both our sinfulness--what we are by nature--but just as importantly to the mindset we adopt and reinforce regularly once we are Christian people--once we are Spirit filled. An so sanctification frequently is less related to behavior, or if it is related to behavior, it's behavior that follows a renewal of the mind as Paul would put it in Romans 12:2. As it turns out, we are going to see that again today in I Peter chapter 4 that Christians are to adopt a mindset and they have to resolve in the situation in which they are in to stay steadfast in a mindset.
