The Fairy Falls hike is one of the most popular hikes that Yellowstone has to offer. Adding the extension to Imperial Geyser is the cherry on the top! The first part of the trail takes you over the Firehole River and through the Midway Geyser Basin, to a view of Grand Prismatic Spring which most people don't get to see.

The next part of the trail travels through a part of the forest which was badly burned by the great fire of 1988.

After exploring Fairy Falls we'll continue along a relatively new trail to Imperial Geyser, which is surrounded by a pool and bacteria mats of quite some beauty.
