This video follows a brass military compass carried by Antonio Rossi, a U.S. Army infantry reconnaissance Point Man during the Battle of Monte Cassino in 1944.
The compass was struck by a bullet while Rossi stood directly over a bounding mine and under machine-gun fire.

The glass shattered.
The needle jammed.
The metal casing bent inward — stopping only millimeters from his chest.

Decades later, the same compass still controls his posture, breathing, and movement as he works quietly in his garden. It no longer points north. It points to the moment he survived by not moving.
