The federal government has rolled out the red carpet for the new prime minister of Solomon Islands, Jeremiah Manele, who has held talks with Anthony Albanese at Parliament House.
Australia has been alarmed by the way China has made inroads into the Pacific nation and Mr Manele is facing a difficult balancing act as he tries to keep both Canberra and Beijing onside.
