The fictional Hillman College was introduced to the world on the iconic TV show, A Different World and inspired a generation to attend an HBCU (Historical Black Colleges and Univesities).

Recognizing the history, benefits and impact of HBCUs in society, San Francisco launched a new initative called Black to San Francisco with a focus to host an HBCU satellite in San Francisco.
