9-Ball - GRADY MATHEWS vs DANNY DILIBERTO - 1996 Taco Bell Senior 9-Ball Championship

Two players who might be more well known these days for their experience behind the microphone, both Mathews and Diliberto were excellent 9-ball players.

Grady “The Professor” Mathews was a winner of many major titles in the mid to late 80’s and was also a successful room owner, tournament promoter and instructor. He also had a notable role in The Color of Money.

Danny Diliberto was known for much more than his pool game. He was an undefeated professional boxer as well as a successful bowler with a 300 game to his credit.

This was the hot-seat match, with the winner going through to the finals.

Scott Smith and “Machine Gun” Lou Butera were in the booth.
