Sending MIDI from the Ableton Live 11 beta to the Initellijel MIDI 1U and CVx expander, and processing audio through an Expert Sleepers ES-9. The MIDI 1U is handling 5 separate LFOs from Ableton, and is triggering a Mutable Instruments Plaits and a NANO Modules ONA. Plaits is receiving both pitch and velocity from the MIDI 1U, with velocity being randomized by Ableton.

All cameras and the screen recording are from the same single take, and are all in sync for the entire video.

00:45 - a view of the single MIDI clip generating the random melody for the synth voice, coming from Mutable Instruments Plaits. The "Chance Note" plugin from the Chance Ten pack is randomizing the pitch of the MIDI clip to a pentatonic scale. Velocity of the MIDI note is randomized along with the probability the note will trigger, which are both new features in Ableton 11.

01:02 - a view of the plugins responsible for Ableton's erratic clock. This process is explained in a CV Tools demonstration, linked below.

01:10 - the second column of MIDI clips are engaged, each with a single bass note sent to a NANO Modules ONA via the Intellijel MIDI 1U. The clips are set to a random "follow action" which will choose a different MIDI clip after each one finishes, ensuring a non-repeating bass pattern. The currently playing MIDI clip, along with the next clip to be played, can be seen on both the Novation Launchpad and the screen recording.

01:39 - a view of the Eloquencer, handling clocks and modulation, and an Erica Synths Sample Drum is creating the pad (top waveform) and the speech sample (bottom waveform). The row of Ableton plugins are processing the speech sample.

02:00 a view of the new Hybrid Reverb, processing the pad, with a wet and dry mix comparison.

02:36 - the Eloquencer, rather than sequencing notes, is randomly triggering short pieces of the speech sample, while sending an erratic clock signal to a Strymon Magneto (seen only in the overhead shot) processing the sample. The Eloquencer is also sending various stepped-random LFOs throughout the patch, one of which is modulating the start position of the speech sample, seen on the bottom waveform of the Sample Drum display. The top waveform is displaying one of 11 possible chords recorded from my Rhodes, chosen by a very slow LFO from Mutable Instruments Stages (the module in the center of the screen at 03:13).

03:36 - a view of the Enttec DMXIS lighting controller, with faders reacting to the audio via an envelope follower from the Max for Live library. The envelope followers are not shown, but are located in Ableton's return channels and activated via a channel's aux send.

04:06 - a view of all five MIDI LFOs being sent to the Intellijel MIDI 1U and CVx expander, and distributed thoughout the patch.

04:32 - another view of the plugins handling Ableton's master clock.
