The Durgas have created a new version of their song Send the Wind that includes US, Myanmar, and Thai artists. It is dedicated to all the people in Myanmar struggling for freedom, and a message of hope as these artists come together in solidarity. This global release features Myanmar’s nationally renowned vocal artists Lynn Lynn and Chit Thu Wai, pianist Daniel Saw, violinist Phoe San and flutist Gi Do also joined by Thai musicians, singer-songwriter Nam Keetanchalee and members of the Commoner Band in Bangkok.

THE DURGAS @thedurgasfrequency is a rock band created by brothers Benjii Simmersbach and Christopher Simmersbach, with musical influences from their upbringing in African and Europe. Their sound is a blend of Eastern European folk and Americana, with roots in punk and indie rock.

Lynn Lynn @lynnlynnofficial mixed and mastered this global collaboration. His lyrical contribution with partner Chit Thu Wai brought new energy and poetry to a piece of music that has for a decade contributed to the peace moment in Myanmar.

This project was produced for Joy Fest, a fundraising event for Joy House a community wellness center located in Mae Sot, Thailand. The collaborative event was co-produced by @wishasone which can be found at wishasone.com with a simultaneous live event in Mae Sot, Thailand and Pittsburgh, PA which included members of the Myanmar diaspora within the US. Virtual events in San Francisco, CA and North Adams, MA followed.
